Video: Middle East airlines continue aircraft spending spree
Middle Eastern airlines have been spending big at the Farnborough Air Show to expand their fleet as passenger numbers in the region continue to grow. But is the growth sustainable?
The BBC speak with Qatar Airways as they increase their order book and look at growing passenger air traffic between east and west.
Airlines including Etihad, Emirates and Qatar have placed large aircraft orders for their fleets and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner has been a popular choice. It was also the Dreamliner’s first visit to Europe. Qatar Airways also brought along one of its new Boeing 777 aircraft.
With all these new aircraft on order the Middle East airlines are now focusing on filling them.
