You will be based at Air New Zealand’s flight simulator facility in Auckland, New Zealand and conduct Type Rating training and Recurrent Simulator training and assessment.

You will be responsible for the pilots operation of the simulator in all scenarios to a satisfactory level of competence.  You will ensure pilots operate in accordance with standard operating procedures and that the level of cooperation between crew members is satisfactory.

A critical part of this role is having the ability to provide a comprehensive debrief so that maximum training benefit is achieved. Therefore, you will have advanced communication skills, be able to effectively manage relationships and ensure that business objectives are met.

As you are required to assess pilot performance during simulator trials, there is a high degree of responsibility in this role. You will also be responsible for the upkeep of pilots training and assessments records and act accordingly in the event of a failure or non compliance.

You’ll be self-motivated, enjoy working in a small team and sharing information and experiences.

To be successful in this role you will posses:

• Airline Transport Pilot License.
• You will be qualified on Aircraft type and possess a current airline instructor rating.
• You will have logged 5000 hours of flight time as a pilot including 500 hours line operating experience on type.
• You will be able to demonstrate competence as pilot-in-command in the flight simulator
• Hold a current Airline Flight Examiner Rating.
