Boeing has begun a five-year fatigue test on the wing of a U.S. Air Force B-1 bomber to validate the predicted life of the bomber fleet, currently forecasted to be 2050.
Boeing has received a follow-on contract from the U.S. Air Force for additional upgrades of the B-1 bomber fleet. The job will focus on the upgrading of the avionics software.
Members of the Boeing B-1 Bomber Program team have joined the U.S. Air Force at Dyess Air Force Base today to mark the 25th anniversary of the B-1 bomber.
