Royal Australian Air Force take delivery of 5th Boeing C-17 Globemaster III
Boeing today delivered Australia’s fifth C-17 Globemaster III airlifter to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) during a ceremony at the C-17 program’s final assembly facility in Long Beach. A RAAF delegation led by Stephen Smith, Australia’s Minister for Defence, received the country’s latest C-17 at an event also attended by Chief of the Defence Force Gen. David Hurley, Australian Secretary of Defence Duncan Lewis, and U.S. Ambassador to Australia Jeffrey Bleich. Read more
Date set for Cargolux to take delivery of first Boeing 747-8 freighter
Boeing launch customer Cargolux will take delivery of the first Boeing 747-8 Freighter on the 19th September at Paine Field in Everett, Washington. Cargolux will fly the aircraft away that morning and put the 747-8 Freighter into revenue service. Read more

The Republic of Korea takes delivery of 3 more Boeing F-15K Slam Eagle jets
Boeing has delivered a further three F-15K Slam Eagle jet aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) at Daegu Air Base.
The aircraft left the Boeing St. Louis facility on the 16th August and made stops in Palmdale, California, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, and Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, before arriving in Korea earlier this week. Read more
Malaysia Airlines announces RM527 million net due to higher fuel costs
Malaysia Airlines’ Group today announced a net loss of RM527 million for the second quarter 2011, impacted by higher fuel costs that offset yield and Revenue Available Seat Kilometer (RASK), higher than the same quarter for 2010. Read more
RAF order 14 Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters
Boeing has received a $1.64 billion (£1 billion) contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide 14 new CH-47 Chinook helicopters and associated support for the first five years to the Royal Air Force (RAF).
The new-build CH-47 Mark (Mk)-6 Chinooks are part of the MOD’s Strategic Helicopter Vision to modernize its helicopter force structure, and will expand the RAF fleet to 60 Chinooks. Read more
First of the United Continental Boeing 787 aircraft enters assembly phase
United Continental have announced that the first of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft has entered the assembly phase at Boeing’s facility in Everett, Washington. In early 2012, United will be the first North American carrier to take delivery of the aircraft, marking the first of 50 787 Dreamliner aircraft for the airline. Read more
